About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Paris’s charming 6th arrondissement, Genki 元気 is a delightful tea house that invites you to indulge in a harmonious blend of traditional Asian flavors and elegant French patisserie artistry. Located at 23 Rue Dauphine, this cozy yet stylish spot creates the perfect backdrop for savoring expertly crafted mille crêpes, luscious cakes, and refreshing drinks that entice you from the very first bite.

Step inside Genki, and you immediately sense the warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it an ideal haven for both an intimate coffee break and lively catch-ups with friends. The café’s ambiance is friendly and bustling—a reflection of its popularity—while the attentive staff ensures every guest feels welcomed and cared for.

The menu is a celebration of texture and flavor, where delicate layers of mille crêpes melt seamlessly on your palate. Noteworthy specialties include the Tiramisu Mille Crêpe Cake, a sublime fusion of creamy mascarpone and softly soaked crêpes, and the Gâteau Fraise, bursting with fresh strawberry sweetness and light sponge cake. For those craving a citrus twist, the Mille Crêpes Citron Vert offers invigorating notes of lime, balanced by the cake’s rich cream base. The Mille Crêpe Mangue and Gateau Mangue stand out for their tropical freshness, while the inventive Mille Crêpe Taro and Thé Au Trésor Avec Purée de Taro et Perles de Tapioca introduce an enticingly smooth, subtly sweet earthiness that surprises and delights.

Fans of matcha will find themselves in bliss with the Matcha Latte Avec Tapioca, a creamy, aromatic blend that complements the delicate sweetness of the Gâteau Fraise or the Mille Crêpe Oreo. These offerings exemplify Genki’s finesse in balancing flavors that are never overwhelming—a sweet spot between indulgence and freshness.

Customer reviews consistently highlight Genki’s masterful desserts and inviting environment. Judith Jiménez raves about the matcha cake, vividly describing it as “amazing” and a must-try. Ada Francesca praises the balance of sweetness across the crepe cakes, rolled cakes, and the matcha latte, emphasizing the refinement in every bite. Repeat visitors like ng hiewmui appreciate the café for its exceptional quality-to-price ratio, especially in an area known for high tourist prices—making Genki a true hidden gem in Saint Germain.

While some note that the café can become lively at peak times, the overall experience remains charming and comfortable, thanks to friendly, attentive service, as Sepid Takook observes. The diverse selection—from the Oreo Cake Roll to savory treats like the Sandwish Jambon and Sandwish Fresh Roll—ensures there’s something for every palate.

In essence, Genki 元気 is more than just a tea house—it’s a sanctuary of flavor and refinement where each dessert tells a story of cultural fusion and meticulous craftsmanship. Whether you’re a dessert aficionado or a casual visitor seeking a tasteful escape, Genki warmly invites you to discover Paris’s sweeter side with every luscious forkful.

Went there with some friends and ate a lot. The café was pretty and cozy, but quite pricey on certain things but since it's located in a touristy place I get it tho. The bao were tiny but tasty, meat were raw idk if it supposed to be like that but i quite like it haha

Honestly some of the best desserts I’ve had. Not too sweet. I’ve tried the crepes cakes, rolled cake and the gateau mangue. So so good! Plus the matcha latte!

I had a great experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a nice spot to relax or catch up with friends. However, it can get a bit noisy at times, especially during peak hours. The service is excellent—staff members are friendly, polite, and attentive, which adds to the pleasant experience. The selection of cakes and drinks is impressive, not only in taste but also in presentation. Each item is beautifully crafted and delicious.

Repeat customer. I'm living closeby and this is one of my top go-to dessert places in this area. I dine out once everyday and I have to say that after comparing the price and food quality, Genki cafe is under-rated: the price is slightly lower than other places in the area, I have dined at many places in Saint German and a simple fruit tart charged me 10euro, yet Genki mille-crepe which cost tons of time and effort to make is a few euro less....that's incredible!! Speaking from my personal experience: I had been living in Tokyo for 6 years, although crepe cakes have long existed in french pastry, but modern mille crepes were invented by Japanese pastry chef Emy Wada. I have had lots of mille crepe cakes in Tokyo and in other countries, also have had some bad mille crepe cakes before....I have to say bravo to Genki cafe, because their chefs really nailed it. Their cakes are always freshly made, delicious, not overly sweet and they have a HUGE selection of flavors, such as strawberry, lime, oreo, sweet potato yam, black sesame, earl grey caramel, tiramisu, coconut....etc. (So far I have tried 90% of all their flavors and enjoyed all of them lol !) If you are not familiar with these cakes but want to give it a try, please choose oreo flavor, it's one of their best sellers, also my husband most favorite ;) This cafe also provide light meals such as freshly made sandwiches and rice bowl, and a large selection of drinks. Service is always good and their washroom is clean and spacious. A small suggestion: it would be nice if the owner can decorate the plain white wall with some framed wall arts ( painting or photo or poster....)
